Sony Announces Handheld Large Imager Camera

Sony unveils their answer to the DSLR revolution; the PMW-F3 is shipping in February 2011 for $16K without a lens. It has a Super 35mm imager, records to SxS cards and will shoot in both HD & SD. If you have a Sony, Cooke or Zeiss lens they will be compatible with the PMW-F3’s PL mount adapter.

Sony also plans on releasing a SR Memory Portable Recorder for the PMW-F3. This device will allow users to record directly to the HDCAM SR codec using the portable recorders single & dual link output.
