Top In-Demand Video Cameras: November 2020 Camera Usage Report
Video leaders and DPs are eager to know what the most popular and in-demand video cameras for corporate production are. Here at Crews Control, we are known as the industry experts on corporate and agency location production trends. If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you know we consistently share data and trends that we collect from thousands of video shoots worldwide. Normally you would find this data in our monthly newsletter, but now you can now find this critical information here on Blog Central.
The data we collect is used by corporate in-house media groups and production companies to forecast trends and make decisions on equipment purchases for the future. This data comes from our internal database and helps determine the most in-demand video cameras from our corporate video productions. Manufacturers use our data to identify rising trends in usage of their platforms worldwide. In this article, you’ll find our November 2020 camera usage report:
- PXW-FS7: 26.71%
- PXW-FS7 M2: 15.07%
- EOS C300 Mark II: 11.64%
- PXW-FX9: 6.16%
- a7s II: 2.74%
- PMW-F5: 2.05%
- All Other Cameras: <3%
Shown in the data above, the Sony PXW-FS7 is the most commonly requested and used camera for our corporate video productions. This comes as no surprise, considering the FS7 has been the top camera in our Camera Usage Reports since 2018. Compared to last month’s report, the FS7 M2 rose above the EOS C300 Mark II. This month’s report also documents the a7s II in the top 5. The Sony PXW-FX9 holds a steady placement in our report compared to last month’s report as well. Considering that the FX9 is one of the newest cameras our crews offer, we are eager to see if this Sony camera will beat out the FS7 in the years to come.
