Top Corporate Video Cameras: Camera Usage Report Q1 2021
Video leaders and DPs are eager to know what the most in-demand corporate video cameras for production are. Here at Crews Control, we are known as the industry experts on corporate and agency location production trends. Based on the high number of video shoots we coordinate every month, we also collect the critical data that professional filmmakers need to know when renting and buying camera equipment.
If you’ve followed us for any length of time, you know we consistently share data and trends that we collect from thousands of video shoots worldwide. Normally you would find this data in our monthly newsletter, but now you can find this critical information here on Blog Central.
The data we collect is used by corporate in-house media groups and production companies to forecast trends and make decisions on equipment purchases for the future. Manufacturers use our data to identify rising trends in usage of their platforms worldwide. The most popular corporate video cameras can change drastically in just a few weeks. In this article, you’ll find our Q1 2021 camera usage report for January, February and March.
- PXW-FS7: 31.23%
- PXW-FS7 M2: 11.59%
- PXW-FX9: 10.33%
- EOS C300 Mark II: 8.31%
- PMW-F55: 3.78%
- PMW-F5: 3.27%
- All Other Cameras: <3%
Our industry is making a comeback. If you look back on our December 2020 report you’ll notice the data above is almost the same, with a few exceptions. The Sony FX9 continues to grow in popularity, but this new video camera has yet to dethrone the Sony FS7. The Canon EOS C300 Mark II tends to remain in the top 3 in our monthly reports. But in this quarterly report, it was beat out in popularity by the FX9. We’ll have to see if it earns a top 2 spot in Q2! Does this data correspond with what your clients are requesting? Let us know in the comments.
