7 Types of Year End Corporate Videos
December isn’t typically thought to be a particularly effective month for marketing or sales unless you’re in the retail space. During the last several weeks of the year, many people are in and out of the office for the holidays and the New Year. If you’re in the B2B space, your clients’ budgets are probably spent for the year and there’s nothing left to do but wait.
Just because it’s slow doesn’t mean that it’s time for you to take off from creating and releasing videos. In fact, December might even be the best time of the year to send videos to your audience. Here are seven videos that are perfect to make during the cold months of December:
1. Corporate Video Greeting Cards
The holidays are a perfect time to reach out to all of your clients, whether they’re active or somebody you’ve been meaning to reach out to. Instead of printing out cards and sending them to everyone, however, you should consider creating a video greeting card. Having your management team warmly wish well during the holiday season adds a personal touch that traditional greeting cards can’t match.
If you want to go above and beyond, you could even personalize each video you send out. Many services allow you to record a holiday greeting and then upload it into a personalized holiday greeting card template, giving your clients a truly memorable card.
2. Reintroduction Video
December is a great time to reach out to clients and prospects that you’ve been meaning to talk to, but just haven’t had the right chance or opportunity to do so. If you’ve been searching for something relevant to say to a list of these contacts, the holidays are perfect. You can simply reach out to them, say you were thinking of them and wish them well during the holiday season. Briefly talk about some of your company’s goals for the upcoming year, and you can continue to follow-up on those points for the year to come.
3. Promotional Videos
The holiday season is a great time to run promotions, especially if you’re a retail or B2C-based company. When you’re running these campaigns, a corporate video is a perfect complement to your efforts. Whenever you publish information about your promotion online, make sure that your accompanying video is easily accessible, too. Viewers are up to 85% more likely to buy a product after watching video content discussing it, so you’ll boost conversion rates a great deal. With the right video content, you’ll have your most successful holiday season yet.
4. Spotlight on Charity Work
Beyond shopping at the mall and giving lots of presents, the holidays are usually known as a time for caring and giving back. If your company does a lot of charity work, December is the best time to highlight that. Interview some of your employees that give back, asking them about what they do and how it makes them feel. If possible, take shots of them actually volunteering and interview the people they’re helping.
Highlighting the good you do as a company offers a variety of benefits. You’ll build your reputation throughout your community and build good-will. Your company becomes a place employees are proud to work. It’s a great way to reach out to people and show them what your company truly stands for.
5. ‘Best of’ Videos
If you’ve run a successful corporate video campaign throughout the year, December could be the chance to toot your own horn. You can pull some of your best content from the past year and show it off, giving your audience a chance to relive some of the content they enjoyed or catch up on some things they could have missed. A video like this gives you a golden opportunity to repurpose existing footage and is the perfect segue to our next corporate video suggestion.
6. Preview of the Year to Come
After you take a look at your best efforts of the previous year, it’s time to think about the future. Your company is going to start setting goals and creating a roadmap of new products and features that you’d like to roll out in the year to come. This is exactly the type of information you should be sharing with your audience. Shooting a video that discusses what they can look forward to in 2017 gives them a reason to get excited about your company and keep an eye out for future videos. Make sure to capitalize on your momentum by creating a new video at least once a month giving updates and new information on the content you discussed in December.
7. Personal Interviews With Employees and Customers
Finally, you should consider running a video series of interviews with various employees and your existing audience about what you’re thankful for or what the holidays mean to you. You’ll turn your brand into something personal and sentimental, which is exactly what you want to do during the holidays. Previous efforts have shown that invoking a feeling of sentimentality produce terrific results, giving you one more chance to grow your brand while producing something genuine and heartfelt.
